About Winford
Ideally situated for both countryside and town, Winford is a quiet semi-rural village nestling onto Newchurch, a 12th Century village. While there is plenty of space for your cars, you may want to take the regular bus services that can take you round the Island. In particular, you will want to take the banana bus, the Island's open-top bus that gives you unrivalled views to the countryside. All these services are only 2 minutes from your doorstep. That said, guests are recommended to bring their car due to the semi-rural location of Badgers Watch.

About Shanklin
Only four miles from Winford, Shanklin's Old Village is famous for its thatched cottages, Shanklin Chine, bars, tea rooms and numerous gift shops. In fact, the famous wooded Chine leads to the islands longest 'blue flag' beach, ideal for swimming or sun bathing. Shanklin is also the last stop on the train from Ryde and taxi services exist to help continue your journey.

Dog on the beachDog friendly beaches
We all know how important it is to clear up after our dogs when on walks but as dog owners ourselves, we can recommend a number of secure and dog friendly beaches. The two main beaches are at Yaverland and Shanklin, both on the glorious sandy bay on the South East side of the Island. Others include Colwell Bay on the South West and Bembridge on the East. Naturally, we encourage everyone to follow local by-laws that may apply to make your visit relaxed and enjoyable.
